Reflection, Imitation, Experience
I was talking with one of my old friends over a call. Like most other retail Indian investors, we both entered the stock market at the same time. Covid happened and we had much extra time in our daily routine. The Market was down and whatever we were being was gearing up to a new high – which was a joyous moment for both of us. The market got corrected several times post Covid and we are habituated to the market momentum and trends like we are tired of hearing about recession and cost-cutting factors in the office.
Today, when my friend told me that at this valuation Gail is looking much better bet than Reliance, I was surprised a bit. Especially at what valuation we are actually seeing Reliance, looks much corrected and considering the tech future of Reliance, it can be good bet and a good by at this level.

The stock is at a very good support level and it may go down 5% more in any further major correction, however, this is a better opportunity if we can accumulate the stock for some time. Reliance is in everything and they are loud to tell the market they are going to stay here for another generation at least.
My counter-argument was, that when we are talking about Reliance, we are taking one IOCL, one Airtel, One Trent, one Rain Industry and a few portions of companies dealing with renewable energy, AI Infrastructure etc. If India needs to grow huge, Adani and Ambani both have to grow like the users of Groww. I am not giving any advice of buy recommendation, I am not invested in Reliance. So, do your research before buying any stock.
স্কুলের থেকে ফেরার পথে, সূর্য্য ডোবা আলোয়;
পাগল মন থাকতো পড়ে, দুই লাইনের মাঝে;
পাইনি সময় খুঁজে;
কখনো সে হাজার সুরে, ছড়িয়ে হৃদয়জুড়ে;
আমাকে পাগল করে দেওয়া, কিছু ভালোবাসার চিঠি;
ছুড়ে দিয়ে তাকাইনি আর ঘুরে;
হৃদয় আমার বড়োই অভিমানী ;
Once upon a time, in a small town in India, there lived a little girl named Aanya. She was a bright and curious child who loved exploring the world around her. However, she had developed a strong addiction to mobile phones and television programs. Aanya would often sneak into her father’s study, unlock his phone, and spend hours watching videos.
Her father, Mr. Rajiv, noticed this habit and became concerned. He firmly believed that excessive screen time hindered a child’s creativity and ability to learn and explore. He would often explain to Aanya the negative aspects of spending too much time on mobile phones and watching videos, but she would cry and insist on being allowed to watch.
Determined to help his daughter understand the importance of a balanced lifestyle, Mr. Rajiv decided to find new ways to make her realize the negative impact of excessive screen time. He came up with various strategies to engage Aanya’s attention away from the screens and towards real-life experiences.
First, he introduced her to outdoor activities like gardening, painting, and playing with friends. Mr. Rajiv would spend quality time with Aanya, sharing stories of his own childhood adventures and encouraging her to create her own imaginative tales.
Next, he took Aanya to visit a local library, where they would spend hours reading books together. Mr. Rajiv explained that books were filled with magical stories that could transport her to different worlds and stimulate her imagination far more than any video could.
He also organized family game nights, where they would play board games and solve puzzles. Through these games, Mr. Rajiv showed Aanya the joy of interacting with others and the importance of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Despite all his efforts, Aanya still yearned for her beloved screens. One day, while Aanya was engrossed in watching a video on her father’s phone, an unexpected incident occurred. The phone suddenly slipped from her hands and fell to the ground, shattering the screen.
Aanya was devastated and ran to her father in tears, afraid of his reaction. But instead of scolding her, Mr. Rajiv calmly sat her down and gently explained the incident. He used this moment as an opportunity to emphasize the fragility of screens and the temporary nature of digital content.
To help Aanya understand the impact of the broken phone, Mr. Rajiv took her to a local electronics recycling center. There, they learned about the environmental consequences of excessive electronic waste and the importance of reducing screen time to protect the planet.
Deeply moved by the experience, Aanya realized the truth behind her father’s words. She understood that spending excessive time on mobile phones and watching videos not only hindered her creativity but also disconnected her from the wonders of the real world.
From that day forward, Aanya made a conscious effort to limit her screen time. She embraced the activities her father had introduced and rediscovered the joy of reading, playing, and exploring. Aanya and her father developed a stronger bond as they embarked on new adventures together, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
And so, Aanya learned the valuable lesson that balance is essential in life. She realized that while technology has its benefits, moderation and real-life experiences are vital for personal growth, creativity, and happiness.
Once upon a time, in a small village in India, there lived an old granny named Shanti. She was a kind-hearted woman who lived alone with her two loyal dogs, Lalu and Bhulu. Granny Shanti was very old and poor, and she struggled to gather enough food every day. As a result, she grew skinnier and weaker with each passing day.
One day, Granny Shanti decided that she needed to visit her loving granddaughter, Gita, who lived in a village on the other side of a dense forest. She knew that Gita would take care of her and provide her with nourishing food. However, the journey to Gita’s house meant crossing through the forest, which was known to be home to wild animals.
As Granny Shanti made her way through the forest, she encountered a crafty Jackal. The Jackal looked at her hungrily and said, “Old lady, I want to eat you now!”
Granny Shanti, with a calm smile, replied, “Why do you want to eat me now when I am nothing but skin and bones? Let me spend a few days with my granddaughter, and I promise to develop some flesh. When I return, you can have a hearty meal.”
The Jackal found her logic reasonable and allowed her to pass. Granny Shanti continued her journey and soon came face to face with a fierce Tiger. The Tiger growled, “Old lady, I want to eat you!”
Granny Shanti, undeterred, responded, “Why would you want to eat me when I am so skinny? I am going to my granddaughter’s house to regain my strength. When I come back, you can feast on me then.”
Impressed by her response, the Tiger let her pass. But Granny’s encounter with the animals was not over yet. As she walked further, she met a mighty Lion, who roared, “Old lady, I want to eat you right now!”
With her unwavering courage, Granny Shanti replied, “Oh, mighty Lion, I am too weak and feeble. I am on my way to my granddaughter’s house to regain my health. If you spare me for now, I promise to return to you when I am fit and plump.”
The Lion, respecting her determination, allowed her to continue her journey.
Days turned into weeks, and Granny Shanti’s time with her granddaughter was filled with love and care. She regained her strength, and her once bony frame transformed into a healthy figure. It was time for her to bid farewell to her granddaughter and return to her beloved dogs, Lalu and Bhulu.
As Granny Shanti began her journey back through the forest, Gita came up with a clever plan to keep her safe from any harm. She placed Granny Shanti inside a large, hollow bottle gourd and rolled it along the forest path.
While rolling, Granny Shanti started singing songs to keep her spirits high. The songs were so haunting and eerie that they frightened even the mighty Lion and Tiger, who heard the strange noises and chose to stay away.
However, the cunning Jackal was not easily fooled. He recognized Granny Shanti’s voice and realized that she had become plump and healthy. He saw an opportunity for a delicious meal.
The Jackal approached the rolling bottle gourd and said, “Old lady, it’s time for me to eat you!”
Granny Shanti, with a tremor in her voice, pleaded, “Oh, Mr Jackal, before you devour me, would you grant me one last wish? Allow me to sing a song. It’s a special song for my dear dogs, Lalu and Bhulu.”
Intrigued, the Jackal agreed to her request. Granny Shanti began singing, “Where are my Lalu and Bhulu? Come quickly, or the Jackal will make me his meal!”
Hearing their names in their beloved granny’s song, Lalu and Bhulu, who had been missing her terribly, perked up their ears. They recognized her voice and dashed towards the sound, barking with excitement.
As soon as Lalu and Bhulu reached the rolling bottle gourd, the Jackal realized his plan had backfired. Fearful of the approaching dogs, he fled the scene to save himself.
Granny Shanti, overjoyed to be reunited with her loyal companions, Lalu and Bhulu, climbed out of the bottle gourd. Together, they journeyed back to their humble home, where they lived happily ever after.
And so, the cleverness of Granny Shanti, the loyalty of Lalu and Bhulu, and the scare of the haunting songs taught the forest animals a valuable lesson. They learned that even the seemingly powerless can find strength through love and determination.
From that day forward, the animals in the forest respected Granny Shanti and her furry friends, and they lived harmoniously, knowing that true strength lies in kindness and resourcefulness.
The End.

In one of my previous blogs, I mentioned investing when the Market Mood Index is in the Fear or Extremely Fear zone. (https://pinakipratihar.wordpress.com/2022/05/27/stock-market-buy-when-market-mood-is-fear/)
Now here is an interesting fact about MMI (Market Mood Index) is, most of the time, the market is Greedy or Extreme Greedy. If you see in the below chart of MMI history, you can find that the Extreme Fear mood of the market last for only 2-3 days and again the market turns back and become Greedy.

So, next time if you find the market is going down, don’t worry! Stay calm and once the market enters the Extreme Fear zone, personally I start buying one the index is close to 25, don’t wait thinking the market will go down further. You can buy 30%-40%-30% portions of your available amount when the market MMI is in the dark green phase of the above chart. Else, you will loose the opportunity again.
Happy Investing!

Everybody wants to buy at the lowest point of the index, no matter whether it can be for a Stock or any Index. The bad thing is, that nobody knows what is the lowest price point for a stock. If Stock A is at the current value of X, people will wait and hold the money expecting the price will come down to X-n. Which is a kind of greed for more profit that works in investors’ minds.
The only way to solve this issue, is you invest a portion and wait if the market is still selling off and going down. Maybe in the near short term, you can see the price trend is going upward and you can feel that you missed out on the investment opportunity. Always remember, that the market is going nowhere and you will have your time and money to invest in your preferred stocks. The market is like life, always giving you more chances. If this is not for Stock A, you can have an opportunity to invest in Stock B.
Happy Investing!
In my first blog, I mentioned that try to find a story for any company you are considering investing in and don’t invest till you are convinced with the story. You can find the part here:
Now, let’s talk about my second learning from my experience in the stock market so far. Once you are convinced with the company’s story of future growth, you put those names on a list and wait till the market mood is ‘Fear’ or ‘Extremely Fear’. This means when everyone is selling, you start buying. Now, how do you know when people are selling their stocks? Because if the market falls 5% one day, you might misread the market considering everyone is now selling. To get a confirmation, you need to check the market mood on TickerTape.
Check this URL: https://www.tickertape.in/market-mood-index

Buy when the market sentiment is ‘Fear‘ or ‘Extremely Fear’ – So, when the market recovers, you will find yourself with maximum gain.
Please let us know your thoughts on this suggestion, if you find this useful – please keep your opinion in the comment box.
Getting a little bit of knowledge about the stock market as an integral part of our investment goals – took me 33 years and a large market crash. I have been actively investing in the stock market for the last one and a half years now and learned a lot about the graphs. It’s upsides, downsides and flat natures.
The stock market enables you to invest in businesses and gives you capabilities to select your risk-taking abilities along with the kind of returns you can expect from the invested amount. Traditionally, it was all flat rate of fixed deposits interests. You know how much you are investing and how much you will receive after a fixed period of time. Everything is pre-determined. Now, you can divide your savings among a bunch of company shares and expect different returns. Cool! Haan?
I am just putting a few lessons, I have learned in my time in the market. I am not going to disclose the amount I have earned or made as a profit on my portfolio. Rather, I want to share some knowledge, I have gathered so far in this blog and following a few more blogs.
Let’s talk about the first realization.
Every stock has a story to grow and don’t invest till you are convinced with the story.
There are a few thousand stocks on the NSE/BSE list, where you can invest or buys shares. Not everyone is going to glow in future. There are stocks going to make more losses and a few of them might get de-listed someday and all your investment will be a nightmare someday. So, you need to listen to the stories, what the company is saying about them and how the market is going to react to these stories. Are the investors convinced with the story? Talk about the risks and prospects of the company with your friends, family and someone study the market regularly. You need to listen to the overall market’s stories, you need to listen about the country you are investing and what global trend is saying about the stories.
Definitely, any company is going to tell you a sweet and promising story about them. You need to double check if- the company’s profit margin is saying you the same story or not. Revenue numbers need to be aligned with the promises as well. Let’s take an example of Tata Motor, the company is aiming big in EV space. Now if you follow monthly car sales records, you can see how Tata Motor is holding it’s market share in Indian EV market.
I will share more points in the next blogs. If you know any good stories for any company where we can invest, please let us know in the comment section.
While the world is still deciding if Corona Virus was developed or born, if Tablighi Jamaats are the major spreader of the virus, should we ask China to pay back the cost incurred or if there is any need for weaponized war in future, we have figured out few points which might makes some sense to all of you.
One thing is clear, Corona Virus is now going to stay with you for few more years and you have to admit it and live with it every single day till we have a proper vaccine from laboratories around the world or our body develops it. While world’s top healthcare services and medically advanced countries failed to manage a treatment process and worlds most educated nations are failed to spread the virus no surprise how this is going to impact a developing country like India. I will not surprised if in next two years India stands with most number of deaths due to corona virus in the world. Life is uncertain and so the future. Let’s talk about what we learned in recent past –
LifeBouy Ad was wrong
Unilever needs to take their advertisements seriously when it involves household health and safety. WHO is saying to wash hands for atleast 20 seconds when the TV Commercial ( https://youtu.be/nZXWUd-sGDk) claimed to have your hand washed in just 10 seconds. Just don’t ‘claim’ anything to sell your products.

HEALTH and EDUCATION
We were habituated with lower health budget every year and we never said a word. Now it’s time to add health budget spending into Election Manifesto. We caste our vote for Ram Mandir but not Hospitals and the trend now needs to change. We still have time to reconsider if we really need to set-up a Temple or a Free Hospital in Ayodhya. Education and Health are the two basic fundamental needs of any nations and we need to stop privatizing these two essentials immediately. Today during this crisis, Private Hospitals are not assisting the society and this is cruel some of them are making profits on even testing corona virus. Healthcare and Education needs to stay with Govt always otherwise the minimum services we are getting from Govt hospitals now would cost 1 lakh per day for any suspect or effected person.

Politicians are not the ‘Leaders’ we need in Crisis
Even Your CM and PMs are taking dangerous decisions during this Pandemic and we need to re-think if we are really investing our vote to correct/eligible candidate? Politicians whom we consider as leaders are actually good for nothing during such pandemic. In my state, West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee has imposed lots of does and Don’ts before publishing the Corona patients and she was busy suppressing the data without thinking the mortality rate for the spread in her state can go up-to 13% – I think highest in the world. No clarity on counts and no guidance on Hospitals availability for a new suspect/patient. Try to visualize the situation here, I stay in Howrah District of West Bengal and suppose I am seeing the symptom of COVID- 19 in me and I am scared. The first thing I will do is search on Google which hospitals are selected for the Corona treatment and which one is nearest for me. I searched the below and found the results – More shocking. Try this search for your region and let us know what you get on Google in Comment section.

Economic Strategy and Colored Zones
Everybody needs a Mask and PPE Kits are necessary. India is importing faulty kits from China and West Bengal Blaming Govt for not supplying enough kits, what if we used Green Zones to supply these products. Clearly Green Zones are less economic developed regions and contributes lesser to Indian GDP but if we could used the Manpower from Green Zone to stitch some Masks (Which I think the easiest stitching work) and PPE kits by the professional/experienced teams just giving them some training and at smaller groups and allowing them to work from home. In Bengal, you can still find people having their own stitching machines at their home. This process will direct some good amount of money to these green zones. The cost for each Automatic machines will cost 10 – 20 Lakh/Unit. We can keep the order outgoing in a strict manner but in a vast residential region like India it was not a much issue to set-up small scale industries in various smaller towns or villages. It might be a better economy booster to farthest points of India. For next few years there will be an exponential Growth in demand for Face Mask and definitely this is going to be a style statement and will be available in bigger retails stores and even in your Kirana stores. In future designer masks, hand made masks with fabrics will be in demand. Govt should start encouraging new SMEs to take the advance market advantage. Along with there are African continent recently getting effected with the virus and there will be a booming demand for masks and sanitizers where we even can earn some money as well.

CHINA Overtakes USA – The War Of Economy
World leaders are now seeing China as the Economic leader as USA continues to contribute a bigger chunk of corona virus impacts. We the rest of world are not ready for the punishment! A profit looking country like China does not deserve to be the leader of international humanity leaderships. Specially what happened with WHO and China in first month of Corona Virus originated. Being a restricted country, China once in power can bring more damages to the human civilizations.
TikTok + Mobile = Religion + TV
India might don’t like China much, we definitely love Chinese products and Jackie Chan. Even the device you are using to read my blog using the glass or with a ceramic tea cup is made in China. Let’s start avoiding the most of Chinese products as per your capabilities. If we can avoid atleast 2-3 products made in china and replace with Made in India or Vietnam or South Korea would be considered as a good start. For now, you can uninstall TikTok app from your mobile as the first step. TV news seems more fake and pointless. We cannot spend a week on death of two Hindu Monks in Maharashtra when we need to ask the Govt about using private hospitals for Corona treatment or the next steps to stabilize economy. Let’s listen less to TV media and use your common sense to understand the situation and priorities. Today on Times Now or Republic TV some Random TMC Spokesperson can claim anything good for his/her parties’image but being a West Bengal residential we know the ground report and what is happening nearby and how much the claims made by TMC leaders are fake or have a ground. Let’s Vote WISELY in 2021

Please let us know what do you think how your State Govt is responding to the Corona Virus situation in comment section. We really need to raise the individual voices keeping your TV news on Mute.
“Although BJP stood second with mere 6 seats, TMC swept Bengal civic polls with 140 seats. In Indian general election, 2014, BJP had won just two out of the 42 Lok Sabha seats. In 2016, BJP won 6 out of the 295 seats in West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. Although BJP has been improving its presence in West Bengal a majority is a long way to go for now!”

The article is starting with a very negative Statement! Anyone can say, there is no scope for another party in West Bengal, except TMC! Which again recalls me of one of my greatest fear and concern I felt almost 20 years ago. I did mention the story of an election hoarding where it was quoted, ” Only Better CPM can replace CPM” and with 3 decades of anti-progressive frustrating obsession by CPM, I felt the fear of being dumped into a growth-less society. When Mamata Banerjee won the West Bengal Election, I felt – change is for good. Last month I visited West Bengal and found the same type of Quotation painted on a hoarding, “Only a better TMC can replace TMC”. History ridicules circumstances sometimes.
Before we suggest what BJP needs to do, first take a look at the West Bengal’s current scenario. CPM erased the word “Congress” many years ago and now, TMC deleted the word “CPM”. There is nothing called CPM in West Bengal except few people who trespassed from East Bengal or East Pakistan (Currently Bangladesh) and managed to have a national identity, Job and local business licenses with the help of CPM leaders. Officially there are no more Maoists or Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. We have only and only TMC and Anti-TMC teams in West Bengal. Election voting machines seem happy with TMC considering the 80%-20% vote share, grass-root level reach via clubs, panchayats and police. Green Cycles, Cheap Rice, better transportation, cleaner Kolkata, increasing real-estate price on paper – 22 seats in West Bengal seems tough to reach estimation for BJP.
SWOT Analysis of TMC
Strengths:
Weakness:
Opportunities:
Threats:
There is a long list of weakness but in politics, threats and opportunities are main players. Whatever Threats or Opportunites TMC has in West Bengal, considered as an opportunity for a BJP or other opposition parties. So, if you are reading this line, please let us know few more points for these two segments.
My Observation: There is almost no chance for BJP in 2019 to win the majority, except Purulia & Jhargram. Let’s elaborate this further. It’s a fact in politics, the regions you win last, have a higher chance to lose them first. WestBengal was green except Maoist influenced regions in 2011. It took time to grasp those areas for TMC and there are more Anti- TMC still waiting for a second power.
My Suggestion to BJP:
I am concluding this faster than expected but the comment section is open for you. Please feel free to let us know if BJP will ever have a majority in West Bengal.
You step in.. any city and you meet new people every day, even every moment! You wake up in the morning your milk-man, newspaper man, your maid, the cab you take to reach your office, security guards, your colleagues, bosses and so many. Every day you meet these people on a regular basis if you are building your career in any city across the world. How many times we ever think of this, the people you meet every day, are outsiders! Most of them. They are from small towns or villages around. May be you, left your home so many years ago with a dream of building up a good education and career. We are all like the birds, those left the egg-cell once nature allowed us to know the world better. Like the birds, we never cared about the egg-cells. We are alive, we are moving and the egg-cell is of no use anymore.
I am sure, people who are from a small town far away from where you are living right now, for a better job opportunity, career prospects; have started relating with what I am trying to put in words! Surprisingly, almost 70% of total population of any city is outsiders! The money is centralized, you pay more tax to stay in a city and the city invests back to your lifestyle and facilities! You start feeling, the city is big, developed and definitely the best place to stay! You start loving your city and like so many other people you plan your life. I have seen my grand father, who was a school teacher in a village. He had a king-size life as per his expectations. Respect from people you are living with, handful fixed source of income, some good farming lands. My father never wanted this. He needed a slightly better life, better education, hospitals better roads and other Govt facilities. He moved and started living in a nearby town, where I grown-up! Jhargram! the town has more than 500 students appears for higher secondary exams every year and 90% of them leave the town for higher education as they receive the mark-sheets! Remaining 10% students, drop-offs or stays with town’s only college. Not because of their preferences, this happens when you don’t have other good opportunities! Students who left the town for education, stay there for their job and slowly they start their family.
My old town is like the egg cell! Every year, it is supplying few hundred talents to the world and whenever I visit my town I walk across the old shoddy roads I see students dreaming big to study in other places and aiming to be another city-slicker.
